Responsibility details are not available.
Injection-molded plastic kit of an Allied Town class destroyer in 1:400 scale, showing the ship in her November 1942 configuration. The box contains parts for the full hull, the superstructures and the deck equipment, a small stand, a painting guide and decal sheets including a flag.
The Town class destroyers were originally American four-funnel destroyers of the First World War period, which the United States handed over to Britain in exchange for bases. St. Albans was one of these vessels and later served with the Royal Norwegian Navy in exile. The ships came into their own mainly in escort and anti-submarine service protecting the Atlantic convoys. The low, elongated hull and the row of funnels typical of American destroyers of that generation are characteristic.
The hull can be put together complete on the small stand, or sanded down to the waterline. Glue the small parts of the armament and the superstructures with liquid cement for plastic. Atlantic camouflage tended to be broken up in color, so an airbrush and masking of the individual fields pay off. Separate photo-etched accessories will improve the fine railings and antennas, and the weathering can be finished with a wash and a dry brush.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
