The Skoda 1201 is a Czechoslovak passenger car of the 1950s, which was built in several body executions and for a long time belonged to the ordinary equipment of companies and services. It was precisely in the role of a taxi that the inhabitants of the cities met it day after day, so the car is known even to someone who takes no interest in automotive history. For a collector it is a rewarding subject, because it is bound to the domestic setting and suits a scene of a street of the period too.
This is a kit, not a finished model, so the final appearance depends on your work. The 1:43 scale is widespread among collector's models of cars and a display case holding them keeps a unified character. How many parts the package contains, whether decals with the taxi markings are enclosed and how demanding the build is, is given by the manufacturer on the packaging and in the instructions; go by that when deciding on a purchase as well.
Put the main assemblies together dry first, so that you reveal any play before you glue them. The material of the parts can be found on the packaging and in the manufacturer's instructions; choose the glue accordingly and test it in an inconspicuous place. Before painting, wash the parts in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap, let them dry and spray a thin base coat; a gloss body forgives the least, so go at it in thin coats and let them dry between each one. Fit the glazing and the chrome accessories only at the end, so that they are not scratched, and glue them with an adhesive that does not spoil the transparency.
