This set from the aircraft aftermarket manufacturer Aires/Quickboost is a resin replacement for the cockpit rear bulkhead, the partition behind the pilot, for a model of the Bf 109G fighter in 1:48 scale. It is the standard open version of the bulkhead, which exposes the space behind the pilot. It is not an airplane kit but a detail accessory replacing the simplified plastic part from the base kit. This version is one of three bulkhead variants the manufacturer makes and it differs from the closed version and from the version for the power-boost systems.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109G was a German single-seat fighter of the Second World War, one of the most widely built types of its day. The shape of the space behind the pilot differed according to the equipment in the fuselage; the standard configuration matches the aircraft without additional power-boost systems.
First wash the mold release residue off the resin part, carefully cut off the casting block and sand the surface with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). We recommend painting and weathering the open bulkhead separately before the fuselage is closed up; the busy space comes alive once the edges are picked out and a little grime is added.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
