This is a set of waterslide decals in 1:48 scale from the Czech publisher ROP o.s. It is not an airplane model but an aftermarket set of markings intended for building a model of the British Boulton Paul Defiant turret fighter. This release concentrates on machines in ordinary daytime service with the Royal Air Force.
The Boulton Paul Defiant was an unusual British fighter whose only armament was a rotating dorsal turret with four machine guns, with no fixed forward-firing guns at all. It was powered by a Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engine. In the daytime fighting of 1940 this concept proved vulnerable, yet the Defiant played its part with RAF squadrons.
The decals are intended for widely available plastic models of the Defiant in 1:48 scale. Apply them onto smooth gloss varnish, which prevents silvering; decal softeners will help them settle. Once they have dried, go over them with matte or semi-gloss varnish.
This is a set of decals (aftermarket markings), not a model. The aircraft model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
