The set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard from the BRASSIN line holds a resin replica of the American CBU-105 guided dispenser bomb in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit of an aircraft but an accessory with armament to be hung under the wing or the fuselage of a model. The casting offers a fine detail of the body of the dispenser as well as of the terminal guidance kit.
The CBU-105 is an American dispenser munition that came about by joining a dispenser with sensor-fuzed submunitions and a terminal guidance kit, which adjusts the flight for the wind for a more precise drop. Inside it carries submunitions whose self-guiding elements seek out and hit ground targets, above all armored equipment. American ground-attack and multirole aircraft carry the weapon.
Wash the castings clean of the remains of the mold release agent, cut the casting blocks off and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. Paint the body in the present-day shades of American aircraft munitions and fill the markings out with a gentle bringing out.
This is a supplementary resin set, not a complete model. Paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
