A resin conversion set in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Hauler. It starts from the early version of the German StuG III Ausf. B self-propelled gun and turns it into the flamethrower variant. The set is cut for a specific Tamiya kit; the base model is not included in the package.
On flamethrower conversions the main weapon is replaced by the nozzle of a flame projector, which is markedly shorter and more slender than a gun, and the internal equipment of the fighting compartment changes as well because of the tanks for the flammable mixture. On a model it is therefore the front end that stands out most: a differently shaped mantlet and a thin tube instead of a massive barrel change the silhouette of the vehicle so much that it can be told from an ordinary self-propelled gun at first glance.
Wash the resin in warm water with detergent, or neither paint nor primer will hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw and level the surfaces on abrasive paper on a flat support; protect your airways while sanding. Try the thin parts, above all the tube of the nozzle, dry and glue them last, so that they do not break during handling. It is bonded with super glue; cement for plastic has no effect on resin. Fill the seams between resin and plastic with putty and sand them down, or you will see them after spraying. Before painting it is advisable to unify the whole model with primer - otherwise resin and plastic take the shade differently.
This is a conversion accessory for a kit, not a model in its own right. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
