Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the British armed reconnaissance aircraft Gloster Meteor FR9 in 1:48 scale from Airfix. The model has engraved panel lines and clear parts for the canopy. The package consists of injection-molded plastic sprues and a set of decals for British machines.
The Gloster Meteor was the first British jet fighter to see combat and one of the first Allied jet aircraft of all. The FR9 version was the armed reconnaissance variant derived from the F8 fighter. In its lengthened nose it carried a camera that could be aimed forward or to the sides, so the aircraft combined reconnaissance with the ability to defend itself. Drop tanks under the wings and the fuselage increased its range. The Meteor FR9 replaced older piston-engined fighters in the role and served with British squadrons at home and in overseas theaters including the Middle East.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and glue them with liquid cement for plastic. Finish the cockpit before closing the fuselage and mask the glazing before painting. Apply a base coat (primer) and spray the opaque shades with an airbrush in thin coats. Assemble the drop tanks separately. Pick out the engraved lines with a dark wash that flows into the recesses.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
