A sheet of waterslide decals in 1:48 scale from Print Scale, the second part of the series for the American carrier-based Grumman F9F Panther and Cougar jet fighters. It contains national insignia and markings. The decals are transferred onto the model with water (wet decals) and serve as an alternative or a supplement to the kit decals. The kit itself has to be bought separately.
The Grumman F9F was an American carrier-based jet fighter from the first postwar years. The Panther version had a straight wing and proved itself with the US Navy in the Korean War; the follow-on Cougar was given a swept wing and higher performance. Both types also served for training and ground support.
Apply the decals over a smooth gloss clear coat, which prevents silvering under the carrier film. Cut the motif out, dip it briefly in lukewarm water and slide it onto the surface of the model once it has softened. Seal it with a matte or semi-gloss varnish once dry; a decal softener helps it settle into the detail.
