The masking set 1:48 Grumman TBF-1C Avenger TFace from the Czech maker Eduard. The TFace designation means masks for the outer as well as the inner side of the transparent parts, so the frames come out cleanly from both views.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a masking set, that is, an accessory for a model, not an airplane kit. The package holds no plastic parts; the base model of the carrier-based torpedo bomber in 1:48 scale has to be obtained separately. The TFace suffix in the name is Eduard's established designation for sets that deal with masking on both sides of the transparent parts, outer and inner.
The cockpit of the Avenger is glazed and clearly visible from inside. If the frames are sprayed only from the outside, transparent plastic is left inside and the illusion falls apart. A TFace set makes it possible to spray the inner frames in the interior color and the outer ones in the camouflage shade, so that the model looks convincing even when you look into the cockpit. On multi-seat machines with a large glazed area it shows most of all. The exact contents of the package are not stated here, so follow the details on the packaging; before buying, also check that the set matches your kit.
Work in two stages: stick the inner masks on first, spray the interior shade, let it dry and only then mask from the outside. Degrease the transparent parts beforehand in lukewarm water with dish soap. Transfer the mask with tweezers and press the edges down thoroughly, so that paint cannot bleed. Spray thinly and in two passes. Take it off at an angle while the paint has only just set.
This is a masking set, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
