A sheet of decals in 1:48 scale from the manufacturer OWL for a model of the night fighter Heinkel He 219 of the A-0 series. The name gives the fuselage code, so the sheet is aimed at one particular machine.
The He 219 was a twin-engine night fighter aircraft with nose landing gear and a high-set cockpit for a crew of two. The A-0 series made up the first more numerous batch; the individual machines differed in their equipment and carried various fuselage markings. A model in 1:48 offers areas large enough for the markings to come into their own properly.
Before applying the decals, unify the surface with gloss varnish, otherwise air will be trapped under the film. Transfer the large fuselage codes onto a damp area and true them up with a soft brush; tweezers are risky at this size. Apply the softener only at the end and let the decal dry without touching it. Matte or satin varnish will then unify the gloss and hide the edges of the film before the weathering.
This is not a kit but a decal sheet. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
