Signs marking a mined area and barrier tapes for a diorama in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A mined area had to be marked so as to be legible from a distance and in any weather. Warning signs on simple stakes were used for that, with tapes stretched between them that marked out the boundary beyond which no one was to go. In a scene such marking has a double role: it explains why the figures are moving along this particular route, and at the same time it leads the viewer's eye along the edge of the scene.
According to the name it is warning signs for marking mines and barrier tapes in 1:35 scale. Together they are enough to mark out one stretch of terrain and to complete the route around which the scene takes place.
Set the signs so that they face whoever is coming into the area, not inwards into the mined belt. Push the stakes into the base through a pre-drilled hole; they then hold far better than glued flush. Do not stretch the tape like a string: it should hang between the stakes and drop in a slight curve, or the scene looks contrived. Keep the painting matte and leave the markings slightly dirtied, because a sign stayed out in the terrain for weeks. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for preparing and gluing the parts.
The set is for builders of dioramas who want to bring a comprehensible story into a scene without further equipment. Figures, a model, paints, glue and a diorama base are not in the package, unless stated otherwise.
