A sheet of waterslide decals in 1:48 scale devoted to the Hawker Hunter jet fighter in the Mk.6 version. This is the second part of a series: it follows on from the previous part and brings further markings, and it is not a duplicate of it. The package contains only the decal sheet.
The Hunter was a single-engined jet fighter with a swept wing that became one of the most widespread British combat types of the 1950s and 1960s. The Mk.6 version was a more powerful development of the basic form and served as a day fighter and later in the training and attack roles as well. The machines carried conspicuous colored unit markings on the fuselage and on the tail surfaces.
The Hunter has a smooth cylindrical fuselage without pronounced detail, and it is precisely on a round surface that decals give the most trouble: bands and colored markings across the fuselage try to lift at the edges and draw themselves into creases. Proceed by settling the decal in the middle of the area and pressing the water and air out with a cotton swab gradually toward both edges, not along the length. Apply the softener in thin coats repeatedly rather than all at once. Before you seal the area with varnish, check in side lighting that the edges are not standing above the surface anywhere.
This is a standalone decal sheet. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
