Vacuum-formed canopy Nakajima Ki-43 I 1:48 (Rob Taurus) is a crystal-clear canopy as a replacement for the plastic part from the kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A crystal-clear vacuum-formed (vacuform) canopy from the Czech maker Rob Taurus, intended as a replacement for the injection-molded part from the kit, for models of the Japanese Nakajima Ki-43 Hayabusa army fighter, version I, in 1:48 scale. It is not a model of an aircraft but a modeling accessory for more faithful and cleaner cockpit glazing.
A vacuum-formed part has thinner walls and better clarity than production plastic canopies, so the impression of thick glass disappears. The glazed cockpit of the light Ki-43 fighter therefore stands out far more naturally.
Cut the canopy out carefully around its edge, sand the edges down and try the fit dry. It is glued with clear PVA glue or with spots of cyanoacrylate, so that the surfaces do not fog. Dipping it in a modeling polish raises the clarity. Mask the frames before painting.
This is a clear replacement canopy, not a complete kit. The model, the glue and the paints are not included in the package.
