This resin cockpit set in 1:48 scale from SBS Model markedly raises the detail of the cockpit of a model of the German fighter the Messerschmitt Bf-109G-10. It is an accessory, not a complete model. The cast resin parts replace the simplified interior from the base kit with a more faithfully rendered cockpit.
The Bf-109G-10 was one of the late high-performance versions of this German fighter, powered by a more powerful engine and deployed in the closing stage of the Second World War. The cockpit of these machines had a characteristic instrument fit and details, which this set captures.
Wash the mold release residue off the resin parts, carefully cut off the casting blocks and clean up the surfaces with respiratory protection. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Paint the interior before closing the fuselage and pick out the instrument panel and the details with a dry brush and a fine wash for a three-dimensional look.
