A figure of a Soviet pilot of the Il-2 ground-attack aircraft of the Second World War in 1:48 scale. An accessory for a model or for a diorama.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Ilyushin Il-2 was a Soviet single-engine ground-attack aircraft of the Second World War, built around an armored tub that protected the pilot, the engine and the radiators. It attacked ground targets from low level and more of it was built than of any other combat aircraft of the period. The pilot of such a machine belongs with the model just as much as the stores under the wings: a figure beside an aircraft immediately reveals the scale and gives the scene a story.
A figure of a Soviet ground-attack pilot in 1:48 scale. The number of parts and the recommended assembly procedure are given in the manufacturer's instructions. The figure suits the cockpit of a model and equally a spot beside the machine on a base with the crew and ground personnel, where together with further figures it makes up a scene.
Wash and degrease the figure before painting, otherwise paint will not hold. Choose the gluing method according to the material of the parts; exact directions are given by the manufacturer. It works well to paint the figure away from the model and seat it only at the end: in the cockpit you will no longer reach it with a brush. Work from the base coat through the areas of clothing to the face and the small items, and shade the face subtly so that it does not look like a mask. Before gluing, try the figure dry in position and check that the canopy still closes.
The aircraft model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
