Decals in 1:48 for the Spitfire Mk.Vb fighter. They offer one famous machine of a Polish squadron in three successive states of finish, and a second aircraft of a further Polish unit with it.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Spitfire in the Mk.Vb version was the most widespread British fighter in the first months of 1942 and bore the main burden of the offensive sweeps over occupied France. The B wing combined two 20 mm cannons with four machine guns, which against the earlier purely machine-gun machines was a substantial change in firepower. It was on these aircraft that the Polish squadrons won their best known victories.
The heart of the sheet is the machine BM144 with the code pair RF of No. 303 Squadron. The interesting thing is that it is offered in three successive states: in the form of March 1942, of May that year and finally in the finish of late summer and fall. A modeler can therefore choose which stage of the aircraft's career to capture, or build two machines side by side and show the difference. The second aircraft offered, W3207 with the code JH, belonged to No. 317 Squadron.
Fine printing of this kind stands a really thin layer of varnish beneath it. The best results come when you smooth the surface with a gloss coat, lift the decal off the paper only once it has released completely and settle it with a soft-haired brush. Apply the solvent solution only when the marking is exactly in place, because after that you will not move it.
The choice between three states of one machine is also an opportunity for a little research: each stage matches a different period of the fighting over the Channel and a different degree of wear to the paint.
The package consists of the sheet alone. The kit of the fighter is sold separately.
