A set of photo-etched metal parts in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. It is not an aircraft kit but a refining accessory aimed at the outer surface of the airframe. It is meant for models of the Westland Whirlwind fighter.
The Westland Whirlwind was a British twin-engine single-seat heavy fighter aircraft of the beginning of the Second World War. For its day it was marked by heavy concentrated armament of four cannon in the nose and by clean aerodynamic shapes. Only a small number were built and it was used above all for attacks at low altitude.
The parts are separated with a sharp knife or photo-etch scissors, bent over an edge and glued with cyanoacrylate or varnish. The fine flaps and skin elements come out well after shading with a wash. Degrease the metal surfaces before painting.
The accessory comes as a separate photo-etched set. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
