A set of precisely cast resin AIM-9P Sidewinder missiles (4 pcs) from Reskit in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft model but a detail accessory that replaces the simplified plastic missiles from a box kit with a more faithful copy with sharp edges and fine surface detail.
The AIM-9P Sidewinder is a modernized version of the J/N series from the 1970s with better electronics and a less smoky motor; the later subversions manage all-aspect attack as well. It therefore differs both from the older B version and from the newest X.
This is a resin (3D-printed) set for experienced modelers. First wash the parts to remove any mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and sand the surfaces; protect your airways when sanding resin. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate), not with ordinary cement for plastic. Apply a primer before painting; the missiles are sprayed with an airbrush and completed with the color markings of the particular service.
The set is supplied as unpainted resin parts. Paints, glue and the base model are not included in the package.
