Fujimi 1:700 turned barrels for the 36 cm Type 41 guns — a set of metal barrels for the main armament of Japanese battleships in 1:700 scale. An add-on for raising the detail of the model, not a standalone kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set of turned metal barrels from the Japanese manufacturer Fujimi replaces the plastic barrels of the main gun armament on models of Japanese battleships in 1:700 scale. A metal barrel is perfectly straight, has a crisply rendered muzzle and, unlike a plastic part, will not sag over time. This is not a standalone model — it is an add-on set for a ship kit you already own.
The 36 cm Type 41 guns formed the main armament of the Japanese battleships built during the First World War and modernized for the Second World War — above all the Kongo, Fuso and Ise classes. The twin turrets with these guns remained the backbone of those ships' armament throughout their service.
Cut the plastic barrels off at the base of the turret and carefully open up the hole with a drill of the matching diameter. Bond the metal barrels with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Degrease the metal before painting and use a primer meant for metal, otherwise the paint will not hold well.
This is an add-on set — the base ship model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
