A model of the German light cruiser Nurnberg as she was in 1943, 1:700 scale. A kit without paints or glue.
Responsibility details are not available.
Nurnberg was one of the light cruisers of the Kriegsmarine and was derived from a slightly older ship of the same family. Compared with her she was given a modified superstructure, heavier armament and greater dimensions and displacement. The main battery was nine 150 mm guns in three triple turrets, supplemented by 88 mm guns, lighter antiaircraft barrels and twelve torpedo tubes. The ship carried a catapult and a pair of floatplanes, so she could look over the horizon far beyond the reach of her own rangefinders.
In December 1939 a British submarine torpedo hit Nurnberg and the repair took four months. That, however, was only the beginning of a career that went on until 1945. Unlike most large German vessels, the ship came through the war intact and went to the Soviet Union as reparations, where she served under a new name through the whole of the 1950s. She was not scrapped until around 1960, as one of the last witnesses of her class.
The publisher is a Czech workshop focused on vessels that the big brands do not offer.
