A complete set of turned metal barrels in 1:700 scale for the battleships of the Bismarck class from the Aber brand holds eight barrels of 380 mm caliber, twelve of 150 mm and sixteen of 105 mm.
Responsibility details are not available.
The most extensive of the ship sets of this kind: in 1:700 scale it covers the complete gun armament of a German battleship. The package holds eight turned barrels of 380 mm caliber for the main battery, twelve barrels of 150 mm caliber for the medium battery and sixteen barrels of 105 mm caliber for the dual-purpose battery. It is not a kit but a detail accessory. It is made by the Polish brand Aber.
The battleships of the Bismarck class carried a main battery of eight guns of 380 mm caliber in four twin turrets, a medium battery of twelve guns of 150 mm caliber and a dual-purpose battery of sixteen guns of 105 mm caliber. They were the largest surface units of the Kriegsmarine of the Second World War, with a characteristic classic arrangement of turrets. Their short and dramatic operational careers are among the best-known chapters of the naval war in the Atlantic and in northern waters.
The set holds three different calibers, so sort them out as soon as you open it and work with one group at a time. Start with the main battery, where a deviation shows most: cut off the plastic barrel, level the face of the turret, drill the holes and seat the barrels dry. Only once the alignment has been checked should you fix them with a drop of cyanoacrylate glue. The medium and dual-purpose batteries are small, so dose the glue with a pin. Degrease the brass with alcohol and go over it with a primer for metal, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth surface.
This is an accessory set for a model, not a kit of a ship. The base model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
