1:700 WWII IJN Deck Canopy is a photo-etched set from the brand Flyhawk representing the deck awnings of Japanese warships in 1:700 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is an accessory made of photo-etched parts, not a kit. The set is intended for completing a model of a Japanese warship in 1:700 scale and adds the deck awnings and their structures, that is the elements that cannot be molded in plastic at this scale.
The decks of large ships were covered over the working and rest areas with canvas awnings stretched on a light frame. On a model it is a detail that breaks up otherwise empty areas of the deck and gives it depth to scale; thin etched sheet can suggest a stretched awning and its supporting structure in a thickness a plastic part will never have. In 1:700 scale it is precisely the proportion of elements as fine as this that distinguishes an assembled box from a model that has been worked up.
Separate the parts with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface, not by twisting, otherwise the edge is deformed. Make the bends over a photo-etch bending tool or at least over a blade and a ruler, and make a bend in one movement. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue applied with a pinhead; for an area, thinned epoxy resin is suitable, as it gives you time to settle the part. Degrease the brass before painting and apply a primer; the awning areas are then painted in a shade different from the deck, so that the detail stands out.
The package contains photo-etched parts only. The model of the ship, glue and paints are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
