Photo-etched radars of the US Navy in 1:700 from Flyhawk replace coarse plastic antennas with fine photo-etched ones. It is a photo-etched accessory, not a ship model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This photo-etched set from Flyhawk is intended for detailing the radar equipment of US Navy warships of the Second World War. It is not a ship kit but a set of fine photo-etched antennas with which you replace the coarse or missing plastic radars on masts and superstructures.
Radar antennas are made up of fine meshes and frames that injection-molded plastic cannot capture faithfully in 1:700 scale. The photo-etched version gives the masts the characteristic airy silhouette of search and fire control radars and markedly raises the realism of the upper works of the ship.
Bend the antennas in a photo-etch bender, assemble them into three-dimensional shapes and glue them with a micro drop of cyanoacrylate. The fine meshes are fragile, so work with tweezers and magnification. Once everything is assembled, apply primer and paint with an airbrush.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
