Printed designs of old maps in black and white for building scenes in 1:72, 1:35 and 1:24 scale. In a scene they do a job that another vehicle or figure will not do: they explain to the viewer what is being worked out in the setting. A map spread over a table turns a group of standing figures into a briefing; a sheet pinned to a wall turns a room into a staff post. How many designs the sheet carries is given by the manufacturer's description.
The name gives three sizes, so the designs can be used from small scenes up to large figures. A simple guide applies: the smaller the scale, the less of the drawing should be legible on the map. In a small scene it is enough for the sheet to read as a map by its shape and tone; in a large scale the structure of the drawing stands out and it pays to place the map so that it can be seen.
For builders of dioramas, display-case scenes and figure bases who complete the setting around the main model. A base, buildings, figures, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
