Canopy masks 1:72 A5M Claude from the Czech manufacturer Dead Design Models are pre-cut stencils for the windscreens of all the patterns and for the wheel discs.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of pre-cut masking stencils in 1:72 scale for the A5M carrier fighter aircraft. The set is conceived as a family one: it holds masks for three different patterns of windscreen and, with them, masks for the wheel discs. The stencils are cut from fine kabuki-type masking tape, hold on curved surfaces as well and leave no adhesive on the glazing once taken off. It is not a kit but an accessory to a model.
The Mitsubishi A5M was a single-seat carrier fighter aircraft with a radial engine, carried by the Allies under the code name Claude. It was an all-metal low-wing monoplane with fixed, non-retractable landing gear, on a number of machines with aerodynamic wheel covers. The cockpit was open on most patterns and only a windscreen protected it, while on some versions a closed canopy appeared as well. That is precisely why the set addresses several shapes of windscreen.
Degrease the clear parts and let them dry. According to the instructions, choose the shape of windscreen that matches your version and keep the remaining masks. Lay the stencil on with tweezers and press it down with a toothpick. First spray the interior paint, then a very thin sealing coat and finally the full color. With an open cockpit it pays to mask the inside of the fuselage as well with a piece of foam or tissue, so that the paint does not get onto a finished interior. Take the masks off shortly after drying.
It is an accessory to a model, not a kit. The model itself, paints and glue are not included in the package.
