A resin detail set, not an airplane kit. This finely cast resin set replaces the radial engines of the American twin-engine Douglas C-47 Skytrain transport aircraft, also known as the Dakota, in 1:72 scale. The type was powered by air-cooled Pratt & Whitney R-1830 Twin Wasp radial engines. The castings render the cylinders and the lines faithfully, where the base plastic handles them in simplified form. The set is intended for more advanced modelers with resin experience.
On a transport aircraft the engines in their ring cowlings are clearly visible and their fidelity lifts the overall impression. The resin castings offer a finer radial structure than plastic parts and, once painted in metal shades with weathering, they look realistic. They replace the simplified parts of the base kit.
This is a resin detail accessory, not a model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
