Decals in 1:72 scale with four torpedo-carrying Beaufighters of Coastal Command and of a Canadian squadron, from the fighting of 1944 to postwar Malaya.
Responsibility details are not available.
The twin-engine Bristol Beaufighter found its hardest role with Coastal Command, where it attacked German shipping along the European coast in strike wings. The sheet offers four such machines and its span reaches beyond the war itself: two of the subjects come from postwar service in South East Asia.
The wartime part is represented by a machine of a Canadian squadron captured at the Davidstow Moor base in southwestern England in August 1944 and by an aircraft of a British Coastal Command squadron from the same period. Postwar service is represented by two machines of the same squadron as they stood at Kuala Lumpur in Malaya in 1949, that is from the time when the Royal Air Force there was dealing with an entirely different kind of conflict from anti-shipping strikes over the North Sea.
The subjects on the sheet
The combination of wartime and postwar machines means that two different periods of camouflage and of markings meet on one sheet, which will be appreciated by anyone who builds the type in several variants. The film is released in lukewarm water and settled onto a smooth surface; gentle pressure with a soft cloth squeezes the air and the excess water out of it. The sheet is intended for a model that you obtain separately; the aircraft itself is not part of it.
