The three-dimensionally printed wheels 1:48 Martin B-26G Marauder wheels replace the plastic tires of the bomber with a part that has a sharp tread and fine relief on the hub.
Responsibility details are not available.
Landing gear wheels are among the parts on which molded plastic is spotted fastest: the tread tends to be soft and a parting line of the mold runs around the circumference of the tire. The set B-26G Marauder wheels comes about by direct three-dimensional printing, so the pattern of the tread and the hub come out sharply and the lengthy cleanup of the circumference falls away.
A bomber stands on its main landing gear, which carries most of the weight of the machine, and the wheels are well seen both from the front and from below. Sharp relief on the tire improves the impression of a finished build appreciably, and it is an intervention that can be made at any time, even on the model shortly before completion.
Never mix rubber toward a saturated black, as in daylight it then looks like a hole in the model. A dark gray base supplemented by a fine cast of dust at the contact patch is more suitable. Set the hub off with a metallic or light shade and outline the transition to the tire with a thin dark line.
Before gluing check the diameter of the hole for the axle, as a printed hub tends to be tight and it is enough to open it out with a pin vise. Seat the wheel so that the contact patch lies parallel with the ground, otherwise the model will stand crooked once finished. Dose the super glue onto the axle, not into the hole.
