What the sheet is for

Decals in 1:72 scale intended for models of the CR-42 fighter in the markings of the Royal Hungarian Air Force. They add the national insignia and further markings to a model, that is, the items that decide how a finished model comes across and that are only awkward to imitate with a brush. The sheet suits a kit you already have and it changes the markings only, not the building of the model itself.

Before you apply the sheet

First check in the instructions whether it is a self-adhesive form. A self-adhesive film that has been soaked is ruined for good, whereas a waterslide decal can be soaked later as well. With ordinary sheets the route is the wet one: cut the item out as closely as possible, dip it in water for a few seconds, let it rest on a paper towel and once it has released, slide it off the backing paper onto the model.

Application tips

• Go over the area under the decal with gloss varnish; on matte paint a white veil appears.
• Adjust the position with a brush dipped in water for as long as the decal sits loose.
• Press and soak the water out from under the decal, so that no bubbles stay beneath it.
• On fabric covering and in places full of detail a softener helps.
• Fix the dried decals with varnish and only then weather them.

What is not in the box

The package contains the decal sheet, so this is an accessory for a kit, not a standalone model. The model, paints, varnish and softener are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
