The real subject

The North American T-28 Trojan is a postwar trainer with a piston radial engine that replaced older training types in the US Air Force and Navy alike. The T-28C version served for training in carrier operations, while the T-28D version was adapted for light combat duties. The set is listed for both versions in the naval form.

What the set offers

The replacement wheels take the place of the parts from the kit in 1:32 scale. They pay off above all where the wheel is clearly visible and where every inaccuracy tells: the tread of the tire, the rim and the transition between them are always in the front line of view on a finished model. Building tips

• the parts are not polystyrene; the joints are held by cyanoacrylate
• cut excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down
• wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold
• fit the wheels only once they have been tried dry, and compare the diameter of the pin with the kit
• mask the rim and the tire and spray them separately; the transition then needs no retouching
