A pair of Lewis MkI aircraft machine guns in the version the name describes as Darne with half heat sinks, in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Lewis was a British light machine gun that in the First World War was also widely used in aircraft, where it was worked by an observer from a swivel mount. Its recognition features are the cylindrical jacket around the barrel with cooling fins inside and the pan magazine on top. The versions differed exactly in the length and form of the jacket; the name of this item gives the variant with half cooling fins and the designation Darne.
The package contains two examples of the weapon in 1:72 scale, as the quantity in the name states. A replacement weapon shows on a model more than most other accessories, because it stands free in space and the viewer reads it against the sky; thin outlines and a cleanly rendered jacket therefore tell on the result. The match to individual aircraft types and the target kit are given in the manufacturer's instructions; compare the part with references for the machine you want to use it on.
Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little away from the part and carefully sand the remainder, so that you do not take anything off the thin wall of the jacket. Polystyrene cement does not work here; make the joint with super glue and always try the fit dry first. Before painting, wash the part, degrease it and lay down a primer; only over that will a dark metallic shade hold evenly.
Two examples of the weapon are supplied. The aircraft model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
