Montex 1:72 Dornier Do-17Z is a masking set for the cockpit glazing that you stick onto the parts of a kit you already own. It is not a model and not part of one.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set deals with a single, but slow step of a build — covering the glazed areas before spraying. The masks are cut to the shape of the individual window panes, so all you do is transfer them to the part, press them down and spray. The model, paints and glue are not in the package; this is an accessory for the base kit you already own.
The Dornier Do 17 was a German twin-engine bomber with a slender fuselage, which earned it the nickname the Flying Pencil. The Z version received a larger, extensively glazed forward cabin for a crew of four, and radial engines. It is that cabin that gives modelers trouble: it is made up of many irregular panes and frames that have to be covered one by one.
Paint and finish the interior first, and only then glue the glazing in and mask. Stick the masks onto a dry, degreased surface and smooth the edges with a blunt tool. A thin coat of the interior color over the edges of the masks follows, then the primer and finally the camouflage — the frames then look right when seen from inside the cabin too. Once the paint has dried, remove the masks at a sharp angle so that the finish does not tear.
The package holds masking templates only. The kit, paints and glue are not part of it.
