A resin detail part, not an airplane kit. The resin wing fences replace or supplement the plastic version on the wing of the American F9F-2 Panther carrier-based jet fighter in 1:72 scale. The thin castings have a realistic thickness that plastic usually does not reach in this scale.

The real subject and what the part is for

The Grumman F9F Panther was one of the first successful carrier-based jet fighters of the US Navy. On the upper surface of the wing it carried small wing fences, that is low spanwise partitions that guide the airflow and improve the behavior of the wing at higher angles of attack. Because this is a very thin feature, a resin casting looks more faithful than a thicker plastic part.

Usage tips

• Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove mold release residue
• Cut off the casting blocks and clean up the surfaces with respiratory protection
• Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate); plastic cement does not hold on resin
• Mark the exact position on the wing before gluing, so that the fences stay parallel
