An add-on set in resin – this is not an aircraft kit but armament with which you equip a model of a modern American combat aircraft. The set captures the small-diameter glide bomb GBU-39 Small Diameter Bomb together with the BRU-61/A carriage on which this munition is actually carried on aircraft.
The GBU-39 is an American precision-guided glide bomb weighing roughly 110 kg. Thanks to its folding wings it can hit a target tens of kilometers from the point of release, and its small dimensions make it possible to carry four of them on a single pylon – which is exactly what the BRU-61/A carriage is for. The munition appears on modern American machines from fighter bombers to fifth-generation multirole aircraft, where it also fits into internal weapons bays.
Wash the parts free of mold release agent, carefully cut the casting blocks off and sand them down. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Complete the gray finish of the munition with a fine wash in the panel lines; any small warning labels can be touched in with a brush according to period photographs.
An add-on set – the base model of the aircraft, glue and paints are not included in the package.
