Replacement engine exhaust nozzles in the closed position for a model of the Grumman F-14A Tomcat in 1:72 scale. They replace the parts from the kit and bring finer detail.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Grumman F-14A Tomcat is a carrier fighter with a variable-sweep wing which served with the US Navy from the 1970s. The rear of the fuselage with its pair of engines and prominent exhaust nozzles is among its most conspicuous areas, and because the nozzles are variable their exit area changes with the setting of the power plant. It is exactly this detail that tends to be simplified in kits.
Replacement exhaust nozzles in the closed position for a model in 1:72 scale. The parts are fitted in place of the nozzle parts from the kit; the inner walls carry finer relief and the wall of the nozzle is more delicate than can be achieved with an injection-molded part.
The parts are not polystyrene and ordinary modeling cement has no effect on them; use super glue. Cut the surplus material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down. Wash and degrease them before painting. Paint the inside of a nozzle before you glue it onto the fuselage, as later you can no longer reach it. Metallic shades come out well on a dark base, and apply traces of heat discoloration in weak coats.
For modelers building the F-14A in 1:72 scale who find the rear of the aircraft lacking depth and crisp detail. Compare the position of the nozzles beforehand with a photograph of the machine you are building.
The package contains replacement nozzles. A kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
