1:72 Grumman F4F-4 Wildcat - USMC aces over Guadalcanal

Waterslide decals 1:72 Grumman F4F-4 Wildcat - USMC over Guadalcanal (ROP o.s.)

A set of waterslide decals in 1:72 scale for a plastic model of the Grumman F4F-4 Wildcat carrier fighter. The subject concentrates on machines of US naval aviation and the Marine Corps committed to the fighting over Guadalcanal. It is a separate decal set, not a kit; the decals are transferred by soaking in water.

The real subject

The Grumman F4F Wildcat was an American carrier fighter of the early Second World War with a radial engine. The F4F-4 version brought folding wings and heavier armament, which made operating from carrier decks easier. Wildcats formed the backbone of the American fighter defense in the early part of the war in the Pacific and proved themselves in the hard fighting for Guadalcanal, where they also operated from land airfields.

Use

• Cut the decal out and soak it briefly in clean lukewarm water.
• Slide it off the backing onto the surface of the model and fine-tune its position.
• Apply it over a gloss coat; a decal softener is worth using.
• Once dry, fix it with a matte or semi-gloss varnish.

Who the set is for

• Modelers building the F4F-4 Wildcat in 1:72 scale.
• Anyone interested in US naval aviation in the Pacific.
• Enthusiasts of the fighting for Guadalcanal.

This is a decal set. The aircraft model, paints and varnish are not included in the package.
