DK Decals 1:72 Hurricane Mk.I and Sea Hurricane Mk.I P.3 is the third decal set in the series for the same subject. It widens the choice of markings beyond what a kit usually holds in the box.

The third sheet of the series in 1:72 scale for models of the Hawker Hurricane Mk.I and its naval version. The product is meant for modelers who want to build a machine in a scheme other than the one the base kit offers, or who build several examples of the same type and need to tell them apart. The package holds a decal sheet and instructions, not a plastic model.
The Hurricane Mk.I went through a series of small changes during production that are clearly visible on a model: the two-blade wooden propeller was replaced by a metal variable-pitch one, the shape of the exhausts changed, armor was added and the glazing of the canopy was revised. That is exactly why it pays to check which production block a particular scheme corresponds to and to pick the parts from the kit accordingly. The Sea Hurricane Mk.I then adds naval equipment and a different finish matching service over the sea.
The most common mistake is not the application of the decals itself but the preparation of the surface. Spray the camouflage transitions as thinly as you can, or an edge will arise over which the decal will not seat. Degrease the area before applying them and spray an intermediate gloss coat. Soak the decal, lay it on the model and slide it with a brush; once it is in place, draw off the excess water with a towel and do not move it again. Apply the softener only onto the surface, never under the decal. Once it has dried, check the edges against the light — if you can see a glossy frame of carrier film, go over the area with varnish once more and only then matte it. Do the patina and dry brushing only after matting, otherwise the decal rubs through easily.
The package holds only the decals. The model, paints and glue are not part of it.
