1:72 Light pillbox model 36 C (without terrain) is a model of a Czechoslovak light fortification bunker in 1:72 scale from ROP o.s., supplied without a terrain base.
Responsibility details are not available.
The model captures the light fortification bunker, model 36, in the type C form, in 1:72 scale. In this range the words without terrain are the distinguishing detail: you get the bunker alone, without the surrounding terrain base, so you set it into a diorama of your own, onto your own base or into a model landscape. Variants with the terrain already modeled are a separate item, so check which variant you need before ordering.
The light fortification of model 36 was the first type of Czechoslovak light fortification, construction of which began in 1936. The bunkers were small, with several embrasures for light machine guns and a crew of a few men; the individual types differed in plan, in the number of embrasures and in their orientation. Model 36 preceded the more numerous model 37, known as Ropiks, which already had a different concept and shape. Surviving bunkers can still be seen in the landscape today and are a popular subject for dioramas.
Wash the model before painting and let it dry, so that the paint holds well. Concrete is well imitated with a light gray to gray-beige base, over which an uneven filter and a dark wash in the joints and recesses are applied; patches of damp and water staining under the embrasures make the surface convincing. Pick out metal parts in a dark shade with a hint of corrosion. If you are setting the bunker into terrain, expect to level the base: a fine modeling scatter, moss and low grass will hide the transition between the wall and the ground.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
