1:72 US 1000 lb bomb for all kit A-36 Apache and P-51 B/C is an external bomb for models of American attack and fighter machines in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The item consists of external ordnance, not an aircraft. According to the name the bomb is cut for models of the A-36 Apache and P-51 B/C machines built in 1:72 scale and is fitted under the wing of a finished build.
A thousand-pound bomb was among the heaviest loads that a single-engine fighter of the Second World War carried under its wing. The A-36 Apache came about as the attack variant of the Mustang with dive brakes for a diving attack; the B and C series then received the Merlin engine and shifted the center of gravity of their employment from the support of ground forces to the escort of bomber formations. The stores under the wings therefore alternate between drop tanks and bombs in period photographs according to the nature of the task.
Before gluing it is a good idea to verify whether the pylon on the model corresponds to the diameter of the mounting and, if need be, to level the mating surface. The bomb is fitted only after the underside of the wing has been sprayed, otherwise it is hard to mask. The usual sequence of work is a uniform base shade, thin marking stripes and finally a light dusting of the lower edge, which settles the whole store into the look of the model. Verify the symmetry of the two sides by looking from behind, as asymmetry is hard to put right on a finished build.
The machine under which the ordnance is hung has to be obtained separately.
