A turned metal set from the Polish brand MASTER for a plastic kit of the McDonnell Douglas T-45 Goshawk carrier-borne trainer in 1:72 scale. According to the name it contains a pitot tube and an angle of attack probe. It is in a small scale in particular that such a replacement makes the most sense: a plastic molding is necessarily oversized here, because anything thinner could not be molded, whereas turned metal holds the true ratio of length to diameter.
The T-45 Goshawk serves for advanced training of US Navy pilots. It is derived from the British Hawk trainer, which was fundamentally reworked for carrier operation, among other things with strengthened landing gear and an arrestor hook. Part of the training is practicing the approach and landing on a carrier, where precisely holding the angle of attack is what decides a safe touchdown.
Work over a tray with a raised rim; the parts in this scale are very small. Cut the plastic moldings off, drill the holes with a micro drill of the smallest suitable diameter and dry-fit the parts with fine-jawed tweezers. Glue with super glue applied with a pin, not straight from the bottle. Degrease the metal and go over it with primer, and fit the probes at the very end of the build.
The set is supplied unpainted and without a kit. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
