This is not a kit but a metal detail accessory from the Polish manufacturer MASTER for a model of the Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIb in 1:32 scale. The set contains turned tips for the 7.7 mm (.303 caliber) machine gun barrels for the leading edge of the wing and a bead sight mount, that is, the mount of the simple backup sight on the forward fuselage.
A turned tip has a genuine bore: on a plastic part you would have to drill it laboriously, and exactly on axis, without letting the drill wander. Metal is on axis and straight, and on multi-barrel armament it holds the same spacing and the same projection on every barrel, which matters particularly on the Hurricane Mk.IIb, because the wing battery of machine guns was numerous and any irregularity shows on a model at once. A metal part also stands up to handling without breaking off.
Drill the holes in the leading edge of the wing with a micro drill of a diameter matching the shank of the part, and mark the position with a needle first, so that the drill does not wander. Glue the parts with cyanoacrylate glue or with slow epoxy resin, which gives you time to line all the barrels up in one plane. Degrease the metal with alcohol before painting and use a primer for metal, otherwise the coat will peel off easily. More elegant than paint is chemical blackening or a light patina, with the muzzles simply polished. Fit the parts once the paintwork is finished, so that they do not get bent during masking.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without the aircraft kit. Glue, paints and the model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
