This injection-molded plastic kit from the Japanese manufacturer FineMolds represents the Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-6 fighter in service with the Finnish Air Force. The model offers finely rendered surface detail, a reproduction of the exposed engine on the upper nose as well as the underwing gondolas with 20 mm cannons, and several variants of the color markings of Finnish machines. It is a well executed kit in a smaller scale, for assembly and painting.
The Bf 109 G-6 was among the most widespread versions of this German fighter; its recognition feature was the covers over the 13 mm guns in the nose. In the Second World War Finland operated a number of Bf 109 G machines that formed the backbone of its fighter force; they were nicknamed Mersu and they stayed in service even after the war.
Cut the parts from the fret, clean them up and join them with thin cement for plastic. Apply a primer before painting, paint with an airbrush and give the surface a coat of gloss varnish before the decals so that they settle perfectly. Finnish aircraft carry distinctive blue swastika national markings, so take care to place the decals accurately.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
