New Ware 1:72 MiG-25 RU Expert kabuki masks is the most complete of the trio of sets of pre-cut kabuki masks for the model of the two-seat MiG-25 RU in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The most extensive variant of the masking set from the Czech maker New Ware for the model of the two-seat MiG-25 in 1:72 scale. The package does not contain a model of the aircraft; it is an accessory intended for painting. The Expert release is the highest of the trio Basic, Advanced and Expert, which differ in the extent of coverage. The specific list of masked areas is given in the instructions with the set.
The MiG-25 RU is a two-seat trainer modification derived from the reconnaissance branch of the type. The second cockpit set ahead of the original one changes the shape of the nose and adds glazed areas, so the model differs from the single-seat versions precisely in the area that is the hardest to mask. The set is therefore cut for this specific shape and it does not suit the single-seat variants; those have their own sets from the maker.
With the most complete variant, think the order of the steps out in advance. A proven procedure is first to mask and spray the inner side of the glazing with the interior color, to glue the parts onto the fuselage and only then to finish the outer masking and the camouflage. That saves one extra gluing and avoids the situation where a mask has to be laid onto already finished paint. Have a knife with a fresh blade at hand, not for cutting masks but for separating the individual pieces from the backing film without tearing. Leave the unused masks on the film and store the sheet flat away from heat, as the paper hardens in time. After removing a mask, check the edge against the light; small burrs of paint can be carefully leveled with wet abrasive paper of a very fine grit.
This is a masking set, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
