A detailed add-on cockpit set for the French two-seat Dassault Mirage 2000B trainer fighter in 1:32 scale. The set is made by direct 3D printing in resin and replaces the plastic interior with a richly worked two-seat cockpit. The Detailed edition is conceived for painting the instrument panels by hand, unlike the basic edition with decal panels. It is not a model of the aircraft in its own right but an upgrade for a kit.
On a large 1:32 model the cockpit is the most conspicuous detail. The 3D print captures the fine structure of the ejection seats, the side consoles and the raised instruments of both crew stations. Painting by hand gives an experienced modeler full control over the final look.
Wash the print resin residue off the parts and remove the print supports. Glue with cyanoacrylate and protect your airways while sanding. Paint the interior in shades of dark gray, pick out the instruments and the levers and add a wash for depth.
