This set belongs among the accessories, not among the models. It offers cockpit features printed with a real thickness on a decal backing paper: the instrument panels, side consoles and control panels have a noticeable relief, so that in side lighting a genuine shadow appears on them rather than a painted imitation. The colors, including the scales and the lettering, are printed in advance. What matters is the sub-version in the name: Quinta Studio releases several sets for one family of aircraft, because the cockpits of the individual sub-versions differ in the layout of the panels. Choose the set matching the sub-version you are actually building.

How the elements are transferred

The procedure is the same as with a classic decal: the cut-out part is soaked in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slid off the paper into place. It has no adhesive layer of its own, so it holds reliably on gloss clear coat (Future, Klear, Tamiya X-22), and in intricate places a drop of super glue helps. Do not use decal softener or setting solution, as their chemistry would damage the printed resin. The material is flexible, so it follows the gentle curve of a plastic part, but it will not carry over a sharp edge; there the elements are always applied in sections.

Use

• Paint the plastic cockpit part in a dark shade, go over it with gloss clear coat and let it cure completely.
• Sand the molded reliefs of the instruments on the plastic flat, otherwise the decal will not sit down.
• Slide the soaked element off the paper with tweezers or the tip of a scalpel by the edge, never by the print.
• Press the element down from the center outwards with a cotton swab; an air bubble underneath will later show up as a glossy spot.
• At the end you can unify the cockpit with a thin coat of matte clear.
