P-51B Mustang (Swiss Air Force) 1:72 from Mistercraft: an injection-molded plastic kit of the American long-range fighter in the markings of the Swiss Air Force and of other machines.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale represents the American long-range fighter North American P-51B Mustang. The box holds plastic sprues, a clear canopy part and decals for several machines, among them one in Swiss markings as well as an American scheme. Mistercraft is a Polish brand offering kits from proven older tooling.
The P-51B is an early version of the Mustang with the British Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engine (built under license by Packard) and the classic framed canopy (the razorback), without the later bubble hood. It was the Merlin that turned the Mustang into a first-class long-range escort fighter. Machines that made emergency landings in Switzerland during the war or were interned there stayed on, and after the war they served on.
Glue the plastic with thin cement, mask the clear canopy part and sand the seams. A number of machines were in polished metal; for that look, metallic paints applied with an airbrush over a smooth base work well, and they are best left until the end of the build.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
