A set of resin castings for modelers who are building the Su-35 in 1:72 scale. According to the name it holds a boarding ladder to the cabin and wheel chocks under the wheels. It belongs among the accessories for aircraft models — the aircraft itself is not part of the package.
On a parked aircraft the chocks are placed under the wheels of the main landing gear, so that the machine does not move, and the ladder makes it possible for the pilot to board the high-set cabin. The Su-35 is a multirole twin-engined fighter aircraft, a deeply reworked stage of development of the Su-27 design. A model completed with a ladder and chocks stops looking static and begins to tell of the situation on a stand: two small things more usually do more for the credibility of a scene than another hour of work on the surface of the model.
Wash the castings in warm soapy water, cut the casting blocks off with a saw and sand the surfaces wet and with a respirator. They are glued with super glue or epoxy. Apply a thin filler primer before painting. The chocks look best when they are not new: the base shade, a dark wash and a light application of pigment on the lower edges will seat them visually on the surface. The ladder, by contrast, comes into its own when the edges and the rungs are gone over gently with a dry brush in a metallic color. Always try the seating of the parts against the model dry.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and a base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
