Self-adhesive abrasive paper in 1500 grit with pre-cut shapes. The pieces are peeled off the backing and stuck onto a sanding block or onto a support of your own.
Responsibility details are not available.
1500 grit is among the very fine grades. It hardly removes material at all, but it levels the traces of coarser sanding and leaves an evenly smooth surface. It comes in at the end of the work: after sanding filler back, after leveling the joint of two fuselage halves and just before painting, when the base is meant to look uniform. It also serves for polishing clear parts out, though there you have to work through several grades in turn.
The sheet has an adhesive layer on the back and is pre-cut, so you peel the individual pieces off the backing without any cutting and stick them exactly where you need them: onto a sanding block, onto a stick, onto a flat plate or onto a shaped support for curved areas. A rigid support holds the paper flat, so the area does not ripple and the sanding pattern stays even. The dimensions and the number of pieces on the sheet are given by the manufacturer on the box.
First get the dust and grease off the surface you are sticking the paper to, otherwise the bond will soon let go. Press lightly and let the grit do the work; pressure creates a shallow hollow under your fingers that gloss paint will unfailingly betray. Wipe the part you are sanding from time to time and run the pad of a finger over it, because an unevenness is felt before it is seen. After sanding, clean the part and degrease it before painting, as leftover sanding dust repels paint.
The sanding block, the model, filler and paints are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
