Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic motorcycle kit in 1:12 scale from the Japanese maker Aoshima. The subject is the Suzuki GSX400FS Impulse with the GK72A designation of 1982. The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the contents of the package and the number of parts are given in the instructions in the box.
Four-hundreds were a class of their own in Japan and a very competitive one, because they matched the licensing conditions of the time. Suzuki put the GSX400 line into it with an air-cooled inline four-cylinder, and the Impulse name belonged to the naked, sportily tuned version without a full fairing. The exposed engine and frame make these machines a rewarding modeling subject, because practically all the mechanicals are visible on them.
With a motorcycle the procedure is the opposite of a car: the frame and the engine are built and painted first, and only then do the tank and the side covers come in turn. The painted parts are small, but that is exactly why every mistake shows on them. Spray filler primer, sand it and apply the paint very thinly, otherwise it fills the sharp changes of shape. Cover the tank decals with clear coat and then polish the surface gently. Spray the chrome and polished parts onto a smooth gloss base, because any unevenness shows at once in a metallic reflection. Glue small parts with a drop of liquid cement off the tip of a brush.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
