A resin set of four AIM-7A Sparrow I missiles in 1:32 scale from Reskit is an accessory for building aircraft models, not an airplane kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item is not an aircraft model. It is a detailing accessory: a set of four resin air-to-air missiles in 1:32 scale, meant to be hung under models of American carrier aircraft. According to the name it suits the F-3 Demon, F7U Cutlass and F3D Skynight types. Cast weapons have sharper fin edges and a cleaner body shape than parts from plastic molds, because they do not have to respect the split of a mold.
The AIM-7A, originally designated Sparrow I, was the first production version of the whole Sparrow line. It was guided differently from the later types: it used the older concept of beam-riding guidance, whereas the later Sparrow III moved on to semi-active radar homing. Missiles of this generation were carried by American carrier aircraft at the turn of the 1950s, the era in which fighter armament was only just moving from guns to guided missiles.
First wash the parts in warm water with dish soap to remove the remains of mold release agent, because otherwise the paint holds poorly. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutting disc; never snap them, because resin cracks. Protect your airways while sanding and work wet. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, since plastic cement does not hold on resin. It is worth gluing the missiles on only once the model is finished and varnished. Apply a primer before painting, and the fine engraving and the fin edges will then stand out even under a thin coat of paint.
This is an accessory, not an airplane kit. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
